GETTING TO KNOW THE TONEZ
the artists behind the music
Lead Guitar & Lead Vocals
Jonathan started his music career playing with his dad, brother, and uncle in the Brandon Deavors Band.
During his college years, he played with: Silverado, Wild Canyon, & The Johnny Banks Band. His love for R&B and Beach music never fell away, so Jonathan joined Coast To Coast, played with the wildly successful Beach Band, Atlantic Groove, and formed The Swashtones in 2012. He rebranded them as The Tonez in 2017.
A gifted musician and songwriter, Jon has written several original hits for The Tonez and also shared the stage with legends such as Delbert McClinton, The Spinners, Danny Woods & Boyz II Men.
According to her family and friends, Laura was singing as soon as she learned to talk. In her early 20s, Laura used the Miss America system to help fund her collegiate education studying both voice and piano, making it to the stage of the Miss Virginia Pageant 3 times.
Laura has toured the East Coast with various groups, singing for thousands of people in Baltimore, Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia. She eventually moved back home to North Carolina and fronted the 18-piece Salisbury Swing Band as both vocalist and emcee from 2013-2019.
A member of a musical family, Bradley began playing drums at the early age of 7 and picked up the guitar at age 13. He discovered a love for bluegrass - finally progressing to learning the banjo in his 30's.
Bradley has opened for several national acts such as Marshall Tucker Band, Starship, Confederate Railroad, Chubby Checker and many more.
He and Jonathan have been playing music together since 2012. Bradley appreciates his wife, Wanda, for supporting him throughout all his musical endeavors.
Keyboard & Lead Vocals
Eric started out playing drums with his parents. His father played guitar while his mother played bass. At age 30, he taught himself to play the piano.
After a motocross accident resulted in injuries to his hands, Eric used music as a form of therapy and fully recovered while building his skill on the keyboards and guitar.
After playing Country and Southern Rock music with Silverado, Wild Canyon, and his own group, Restless, Eric found himself ready for a change. His creativity on the keys and acoustic guitar, along with superb vocals is an integral part of The Tonez. Eric wrote The Tonez' 2020 #1 Hit, "Empty Chair."
